The city of
Philadelphia provides a wealth of things to see and do.
Its high importance during the Revolutionary War has yielded
entire areas in which famous, country-shaping events have taken
place. Be sure to check out places like
Independence Hall, the
Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross
House, and Franklin
Court during your walking tour of the district.
Start
at Front Street near the Delaware River and proceed up to around
6th Street and over past Chestnut and Market Streets.
Signs furnished by the city are everywhere, ensuring that you do
not get lost and pointing out everything within a ten-minute
walk.
Your travels will
definitely bring you to City Hall,
located in Philadelphia's center. The impressive,
unobstructed view of William Penn on the structure's roof can be
seen for miles around thanks to a law prohibiting buildings from
blocking the Hall's famous cap.
Further up, you'll find the museum district, home of Franklin
Institute and the other "major" museums like
the Philadelphia Museum of
Art and the Academy
of Natural Sciences.
